Your journey starts with your arrival in Kathmandu, the vibrant capital of Nepal. Our representative will pick you up at Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer you to your 5-star hotel.

Today, we will explore the UNESCO-listed heritage sites of Kathmandu Valley. We will visit the holy Pashupatinath Temple, the ancient Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), the grand Boudhanath Stupa, and the historic Kathmandu Durbar Square with an experienced well well-managed Speaking Tour Guide.

Today we depart early in the morning after a thrilling 30-minute flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. During the scenic mountain flight, we will enjoy breathtaking views of the mountains. After landing, begin our trek towards Phakding through traditional villages, suspension bridges, and the dense forests of the Dudh Koshi River.

We will trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar, passing through stunning landscapes and into the heart of the Sagarmatha National Park. The route follows the Dudh Koshi River, crosses several wooden suspension bridges, and ascends through beautiful pine forests to reach Namche Bazaar, the gateway to Everest.

Along the way, catch your first glimpse of Mount Everest and other towering peaks.

On this day, we will acclimatize to the increasing altitude, spending a comfortable day in Namche Bazaar. In the afternoon, we will take a short walk to Everest View Hotel, a high-altitude luxury hotel, for panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. In addition, it offers the opportunity to visit the Namche Bazaar and Sherpa Museum, and learn about local traditions.

Today we stay at the World's Highest Point Hotel, Everest View Hotel, 3962m.

We will continue our trek through scenic trails, rivers, and rhododendron forests before reaching Tengboche, home to the famous Tengboche Monastery. From the monastery premises, you will witness a mesmerizing sunset of Everest, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam.

Today, we will descend through lush forests and cross the Imja River before ascending to Dingboche, a stunning mountain village surrounded by majestic peaks. This high-altitude adventure offers panoramic views of Lhotse and Ama Dablam.

Another acclimatization day in the EBC trek includes a rewarding hike to Nangkartshang Peak, which provides breathtaking views of Makalu, Lhotse, and Cho Oyu. You will spend the rest of the day exploring Dingboche's scenic landscapes.

The ninth day of our trek follows a steep ascent through the Khumbu Glacier moraines, passing Thukla Pass, where memorials honor climbers who perished on Everest. Reach Lobuche, a small but iconic settlement with spectacular Himalayan views.

This is the most exciting day. Trek through rocky terrain alongside the Khumbu Glacier, finally arriving at Everest Base Camp (EBC), a dream destination for trekkers worldwide. Soak in the breathtaking scenery before returning to Gorakshep overnight.

Early morning, hike to Kala Patthar, the highest point of the trek 5555m, for an up-close sunrise view of Mount Everest. Capture breathtaking photos before descending to Pheriche, a beautiful valley nestled along the glacial rivers.

On this day, we step back to Namche Bazaar, crossing lush forests, rivers, and suspension bridges. In the night, we celebrate our successful EBC trek with a warm meal at a comfortable lodge.

Today, we will descend along the Dudh Koshi River, crossing beautiful Sherpa villages before reaching Lukla, where you can celebrate your trek’s completion.

On this day, we take an early morning flight back from Lukla Airport to Kathmandu by Helicopter, depending on our flight schedule. In addition, we enjoy a relaxing day, shop for souvenirs, and relish our final evening in Nepal.

How Hard is Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek?

Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek is a moderately to highly challenging Himalayan adventure suitable for trekkers with good fitness and basic hiking experience. The trek reaches over 5,000 meters, where altitude, cold weather, and long walking days test endurance. However, luxury lodges, comfortable meals, and guided support make the journey more manageable than a standard trek. Proper acclimatisation, slow pacing, and preparation are essential for success while enjoying stunning views of Everest and surrounding peaks for adventure lovers worldwide.

                                Do I Need Travel Insurance?

Travel insurance is not strictly mandatory for the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek, but it is highly recommended for your safety and peace of mind. Since the trek reaches altitudes above 5,000 meters, there is a real risk of altitude sickness, injuries, and unpredictable weather conditions. In such cases, emergency helicopter evacuation can be extremely expensive in Nepal’s Everest region. A good travel insurance policy should cover high-altitude trekking, medical treatment, hospitalisation, and helicopter rescue services. It also helps protect you from unexpected trip cancellations, delays, or lost luggage. Having insurance ensures you can enjoy the journey with confidence, knowing that any emergency expenses will be taken care of without financial stress during your Everest adventure.

Altitude Sickness and How to Reduce

Yes, altitude sickness (Acute Mountain Sickness) is quite common during the Everest Base Camp Trek because of the high elevation and reduced oxygen levels. However, with proper guidance from the experienced team of Mount Glory Treks, the risk is greatly minimised by following safe trekking practices such as drinking plenty of water, walking slowly, and allowing proper acclimatisation with rest days in places like Namche Bazaar and Dingboche. Trekkers are also advised to avoid alcohol, smoking, and excess caffeine, maintain a balanced diet, and listen to their body to ensure a safe and successful journey.

                                What is Altitude Sickness?

It happens when your body cannot adjust quickly to reduced oxygen levels at high elevation. Common symptoms include headache, nausea, dizziness, fatigue, and loss of appetite.

                                How to Avoid It

                                • Ascend slowly (proper acclimatisation is key)
                                • Drink plenty of water (3–4 litres daily)
                                • Avoid alcohol and smoking
                                • Take rest days (especially in Namche & Dingboche)
                                • Eat light, high-energy food
                                • Walk at a steady pace (don’t rush)

How do I train for Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek?

Training for the Luxury Trek to Everest Base Camp is mostly about building stamina, leg strength, and adapting your body for long days at high altitude. Here are a few key points:

                                • Build cardio endurance: Start running, cycling, or brisk walking 4–5 times a week to improve heart and lung capacity.
                                • Practice hiking with a backpack: Do weekend hikes carrying 5–10 kg to simulate real trekking conditions.
                                • Strength training: Focus on legs and core (squats, lunges, step-ups, planks) to handle uphill climbs and downhill stress.
                                • Increase walking duration: Gradually train for 5–7 hours of walking to match trekking days.
                                • Train on stairs or hills: Helps prepare for steep ascents like Namche and Tengboche sections.
                                • Improve flexibility & recovery: Stretching or yoga reduces injury risk and muscle fatigue.
                                • Mental preparation: Get used to slow, steady pacing. EBC trekking is about endurance, not speed.
