                Useful Information

How hard is Pikey Peak Trek?

The short Pikey Peak trek route is designed as a moderate hike suitable for beginners and experienced hikers. Additionally, the viewing height of the highest Pikey Peak is high enough to provide stunning views of Everest, so there is also less chance of altitude sickness compared to Everest Base Camp Trek.

Most trekkers can complete the trek in 5 to 7 days with daily hikes of 5 to 6 hours. The main challenge is the early morning ascent to pikey peak higher region for sunrise, which involves a steep climb in cold temperatures.

However, with the basic fitness, proper acclimatization, and a steady pace, anyone with a positive mindset can conquer this trek.

Food and Accommodation During Pikey Peak Trek

Food is very essential for the higher altitude, so the teahouses offer classic traditional Nepali traditional foods such as Dal Bhat, noodle soup, Tibetan roti, Momo, and other food items. Since the cost of food increases with altitude, carrying snacks like energy bars and nuts can help you save money and stay energized.

Along the pikey peak trek, you will find basic comfortable teahouses and local homestay in Dhap, Jhapre, and Junbesi. They offer cozy rooms with twin beds, warm blankets, and shared bathrooms. Which means very common accommodation facilities you can get during the whole journey. Travelers are not worried about the accommodation, Mount Glory Treks will provide the best facilities along the way.

When is the best time to do Pikey Peak Trek?

The best time for the pikey peak trek is during spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). This season offers clear skies, stable weather, and stunning views of Mount Everest. You can enjoy the majestic view of the mountain without hurdles.

Winter trekking is possible but requires extra preparation for cold temperatures, and the monsoon is not recommended due to heavy rain and slippery routes.

Guide and Porter during the Pikey Peak Trekking

We highly recommend hiring a guide and porter for pikey peak trek itinerary, especially for beginners. Therefore, Mount Glory will provide a licensed local trekking guide to help you. Guide will ensure a safe and well-navigated excursion, and the porter will help carry your load, making the journey more enjoyable.

Although this trek can be completed independently, having a local guide enhances the experience with cultural insights and navigation support.

Required permit for Pikey Peak Trek

During the Pikey Peak Trek you need to carry Gaurishankar Conservation Area Permit (GCAP), and the Trekkers Information Management System (TIMS).

These trekking permits help you with conservation entry, and hiking safety. Don't worry about permits, our company manages all types of permits required for the trip to make your trip hassle-free and enjoyable.

Transportation during the Pikey Peak Trek
