Annapurna Base Camp 6 Days Trekking Route:

The ABC treks typically begin from Ghandruk after 4 hours of drive from Pokhara. On the way to Ghandruk, we cross the popular point of Nayapul gateway of Annapurna Trekking. While crossing the Nayapul we reach the birethanti where we check our trekking permit then we move towards Ghandruk Village.

Ghandruk is a popular Gurung Settlement village where we can find many unique lifestyles, festivals, cultures, museums, foods, and Gurung Lifestyles. Most popular trekking destination in the Annapurna Region of Kaski District Nepal. After a 4-hour jeep drive to Ghandruk, we can take our lunch, and then our ABC foot trail starts towards the popular village Chhomrong. After 3-4 hours of step hiking, we reach Chhomrong where we stay overnight

The next day we had an early morning breakfast at the hotel, and then our journey moved towards the popular village Dovan. After around 5-6 hours of normal hike, we reach Dovan and we stay overnight at the tea house with twin-sharing accommodation. Continuously our trekking trail moves towards a picturesque village and ascends to Modi River Valley village we reach the popular Deurali Village an elevation of 3230m.

On the fourth day of our ABC Journey, our hike moved towards our final destination Annapurna Base Camp(ABC) 4130m.On the way to ABC Trail, we cross the popular base camp Machhapuchre Base Camp(MBC) an elevation of 3700. From Deurali around 4-5 hours of upward and downwards hiking we reach our final point ABC where we stay overnight at a tea house. Annapurna Base Camp is the final destination and goal of our 06-day trekking journey where we can witness the mesmerizing mountain view of Annapurna I, Annapurna II, Gangapurna, Himchuli, Machhapuchhre and many more Annapurna Mountain Range.

The next day early morning we catch the stunning sunrise view over Himalayas before the breakfast then our hiking move towards the same trekking trail. After 6-7 hours of step hiking, we reach popular Village Bamboo the elevation of 2310m where we overnight stay. The following day we move towards Another Unique feature during ABC Trail the place Jhinu Danda popularly called Natural Hot Spring Spot which is an elevation of 1780m where you can relax with natural hot water. On the same day, we catch the Jeep and move towards the final point of Pokhara and relax in the tourist hub of Pokhara City. After reaching Pokhara city our 6 days of Annapurna Base Camp Trekking Journey will finish and you say bye to our helpful porters and guides with a few amount of tips(Tiping is expected).

Necessary Permits to trek in the Annapurna Base Camp

Permits and Documents play a vital role in trekking in the Annapurna base camp, without Trekkers Information Management System(TIMS) and Annapurna Conservation Area Permit(ACAP) you could not complete your journey. If you are confused about the required permit and document don’t panic, our Mount Glory Trek will provide all the necessary permits and documents.

Trekkers Information Management System(TIMS)

To ensure each Trekker’s safety and security, The TAAN (TREKKING AGENCIES ASSOCIATION OF NEPAL ) executes the Trekker's Information Management System. It helps to keep a record of the tourists who want to trek in Nepal. TIMS is considered as a fundamental permit because it is necessary for all the trekking routes of Nepal like EBC, Kanchenjunga Trek, Langtang Valley, and many more. The cost of this permit is 2000 per person in Nepali currency.

Annapurna Conservation Area Permit(ACAP)

If are seeking to hike in the Annapurna base camp then every traveler needs to have a permit for an Annapurna Conservation Area Permit its cost is NRP 3000.ACAP permit is required for traveling through Manang, Magdi Lamjung, and Mustang District and it was declared as a conservation reserve by the Nepalese government in 1992 AD.

Itinerary

Have an early breakfast at your hotel, and you will be received by crew members and transferred to Ghandruk. The first half of the drive takes you through a pitched black-top road. Once you cross Nayapaul, the road towards Ghandruk is uphill and bumpy, but you will enjoy the view of the Himalayas and traditional villages and farmlands. 

Ghandruk is a Gurung village known for intriguing traditional stone houses and terraced fields showing the village lifestyle. 

Then commence the trek towards Chhomrrong. Start your trek walking across the dirt path as you cross some small villages and ascend through a stone staircase to Kimrung Danda, which offers an up-close view of Annapurna South (7219m), Machhapuchhre (6993m), and Hiunchuli (6441m). Then make your descent to Kimrung Khola through a forested path filled with oak and fir trees leading you to a suspension bridge. 

     After breakfast, begin today's journey by walking uphill through the village and then descend to cross a river through a suspension bridge. Once you cross the river, ascend on a nicely paved stone path leading to Lower Sinuwa.  

    The journey towards Upper Sinuwa is challenging, with a steep climb through ancient forests followed by a plain path with enjoyable views. 

    The trail continues downhill to Bamboo, through some waterfalls, and finally reaches Dovan. 

      Start with a short moderate walk to Upper Dovan. Then walk through the woods on a stone trail following classic inclines and declines trails of Nepal. You will then reach a gorgeous temple with a view of a waterfall cascading down the cliffs. While passing the temple, we pay respect to it. 

      Then start a steep ascend on stone steps towards Himalaya and to Hinku Cave, which was once a sleeping area for shepherds. Once you cross the cave, walk a short downhill to 
      the landslide zone with a view of a stunning waterfall. Since it's a landslide zone, do not stay in this region for too long. 

      To reach Deurali, you have to walk one last uphill.  

         Begin your day with a Nepali Breakfast. 

        Sensational views into the Annapurna Sanctuary gradually appear as you walk over a ridge and climb to the Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3,700m/12,136ft). 
        From here, Annapurna Base Camp is not too far. Enjoy a short relaxed walk on a grassy slope leading to the Annapurna Base Camp. 

        Later, enjoy the day exploring the area and rewarding yourself with a breathtaking view of the Annapurna South glacial moraine. 

          This particular day is the most rewarding one. The sun rises, and the first ray hits the mighty Himalayan peak, that moment is truly magical, creating a magical glitter 360 degrees panoramic view of the 10th highest mountain on earth - Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna III (7555m) and Annapurna South (7219m), Gangapurna (7455m), Machapuchare (6993m), Baraha Shikhar / Annapurna Fang (7647m), Hiunchuli (6441m), Singu Chuli (Fluted Peak). 

          After enjoying a moment, have breakfast and we start retracing our way to Lower Sinuwa. The way to Lower Sinuwa may not seem that difficult but be careful walking downhill, especially the steeper one as it will definitely hit your knees and ankles. 

            After your morning routine, we hike towards the last part of the trail, Jinu Dhada.

            Walk slowly down to the river to make the way back to Chomrong led by a steep uphill on a stone staircase. 

            To Jhinu Danda it's a steep downhill. Once you cross the suspension bridge, the trek concludes and you will be transferred back to Pokhara.

              Best Season to trek Annapurna Base Camp

              We highly recommend doing the Annapurna Base Camp Trek in March, April, May(Spring), and Septmber, October, and November (Autumn). During these months, the weather is neither cold nor hot, and no heavy rain or snowfall, and the a clear view of the Himalayas.

              Note: Trekking in the Annapurna Base Camp is possible all around the year if travelers follow the precautions and require checklists.

              Annapurna Base Camp Trek Difficulty

              Annapurna Base Camp Trek is not a level-of-difficulty trek. It is a moderate-level hiking route in the Annapurna Region of Western Nepal. Trekkers must be prepared for 5/6 hours of daily walking experience before going to Annapurna Base Camp. During the 6-day journey, we reached an elevation of 4130m from sea level which is not very risky for altitude sickness but nobody is sure about unforeseen conditions and situations that's why we highly recommend at least hiring a guide or porter during the trip which makes it safe and memorable.

              Accommodation and Facilities During 6 Days Annapurna Base Camp Trek:

              Just like other trails in the Annapurna region, the Annapurna Base Camp trek is one of the most well-maintained trails in Nepal, with typical accommodation facilities. 

              Most accommodations have shared bathrooms. Most of the additional facilities, such as showers, Wi-Fi, and hot drinking water, are available at an extra cost. 

              You also have quite an option for food. While we mostly suggest travellers have Dal and bhat as it provide enough carbs, you may find menus with options to satisfy your craving the cost is a bit expensive.

              ABC Trek is a moderate-level trek so if you are active in day-to-day life, a light preparation indulging in some running, cycling, and swimming will be enough.
