Do you want to set off on the Annapurna region trek but feel like the ABC trek alone is not enough? Then don't worry, because Mount Glory Trek has brought you the perfect travel package, which might be the best choice for you.

For those who wish to get the most out of their trip to the Annapurna region, we have expertly planned this 17-day ABC trek via Poon Hill with Mardi Himal.

From the foot of the tenth-greatest mountain in the world to the famous sunrise at Poon Hill and the breathtaking panoramic views from Mardi Himal Base Camp, the trek's highest elevation, this ABC trek via Poon Hill with Mardi Himal offers more than any package could.

Highlights of ABC Trek via Poon Hill with Mardi Himal

  • Experience the ultimate Himalayan amphitheater up close at the base of the 10th-tallest mountain in the world.
  • Iconic sunrise at Poon Hill (3210 m) with a Himalayan panorama including Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Machhapuchhre.
  • Explore the off-the-beaten-path ridge, which is perfect for those seeking solitude and offers a more peaceful and unhindered view of Machhapuchhre and the Annapurna range.
  • The entire Annapurna region is captured in this one-of-a-kind trek, which leads you through a variety of picturesque settings, including terraced fields, rhododendron forests, alpine meadows, glaciers, and high ridges.
  • As you travel through various Gurung and Magar villages, such as Chhomrong, Tadapani, Ulleri, and Landruk, you will become fully immersed in their culture and encounter the customs and hospitality of the locals.
  • After the challenging ABC climb, unwind at the natural riverside hot springs at Jhinu Danda during your trek to Mardi Himal.
  • Combining the well-known ABC trail with the lesser-known Mardi Himal trail, this ABC trek via Poon Hill and Mardi Himal offers the best of both worlds.
  • On clear days, you can see Annapurna I, South, Hiunchuli, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, and even Manaslu in a 360-degree panorama while trekking this best route in the Annapurna region.
  • Because of the trek's lower elevation and the fact that the daily hikes are acclimatising, there are fewer chances of altitude sickness.
  • The Annapurna region is home to a variety of wildlife and plants, including Himalayan monal, langurs, and musk deer, as well as rhododendron blooms and oak and bamboo forests.
  • This trek is a better option than ABC trekking or the Mardi Himal Trek separately because it provides a full Himalayan experience that expertly combines adventure, culture, nature, and tranquillity.

The Annapurna Base Camp trek via Poon Hill and Mardi Himal is one of the best trekking routes in Nepal. It's a unique experience that leads you to the less-traveled routes of the Nepali Himalayas.

Additionally, this 17-day ABC trek saves you valuable time during your trip to Nepal because splitting the destination and travel would have cost you significantly more money and days. Magnificent views of snow-capped mountains throughout the trip elevate your adventure and give you more strength.

The ABC trek via Poon Hill with Mardi Himal is a moderately difficult trek that is easily completed by both experienced and novice hikers. Additionally, because of the daily acclimatizing and lower elevation during the tour, there is a lower chance of altitude sickness on this trek.

In addition to this 17-day mixed Annapurna trek, we also have packages available if you would like to explore other Annapurna trekking routes and take separate tours of Poon Hill, ABC, and Mardi Himal.

To summarise, if you like the ABC Trek via Poon Hill with Mardi Himal, you can book it right now and start fantasising about your Annapurna region trekking. Early bookings for 2025 and 2026 have already begun. If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to contact us; we will be happy to help.

There are rocky ridges, moraine trails, and high-altitude meadows along the route, which is incredibly fascinating and daring. In the sanctuary, there is a good chance of seeing alpine plants, Himalayan monal, and musk deer.

With meals and rest areas in the far-flung high mountains, the teahouses offer a comfortable stay during your trip to the Annapurna region. Experience firsthand the rich culture and way of life of the Gurung and Magar people in the Himalayan region.

Experience the Magic of Sunrise Over Majestic Peaks at Poon Hill 3210m

Another significant stop on this mixed Annapurna Trek is the stunning Poon Hill, which you arrive at early in the morning to see the famous mountains at sunrise. You can experience an amazing 360-degree sunrise over the Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, and Nilgiri ranges on the Poon Hill Trek.

The cherry on top is that this breathtaking vantage point is easily reachable with a quick predawn ascent and is appropriate for hikers with a moderate level of fitness. Another pleasant experience is strolling through rhododendron-filled, vibrant forests, particularly in the spring.

You will encounter local culture as you travel through a number of Magar villages, such as Ghorepani, on your way to Poon Hill. The Annapurna range's iconic Himalayan views await you when you arrive at Poon Hill, making it a photographer's dream come true for postcards and social media posts.

A Journey Through Offbeat Terrains of Mardi Himal Base Camp 4500m

This special Annapurna trek also leads to the Mardi Himal Ridge, which is off the beaten path and much more peaceful and solitary due to fewer hikers.

You will be able to see the Machhapuchhre and other nearby Annapurna peaks up close during the Mardi Himal Trek. The most fascinating aspect is the Mardi Himal High Camp, a picturesque campsite with unspoiled alpine surroundings and expansive views.

Speaking of the flora and fauna, the Mardi Trek will encircle you with forests of rhododendron, oak, and bamboo, with sporadic sightings of unique wildlife. For trekkers looking for adventure, the trail features remote trails and steeper ascents.

Amazing sunrises and sunsets can be seen during the trek after ABC in the Mardi Himal ridges.

Why pick the ABC Trek with Mardi Himal via Poon Hill?

The unique Annapurna trek is, without a doubt one of the most cost-effective and time-efficient journeys to Nepal's Himalayas. In a nutshell, this trip is a three-in-one Himalayan experience trek that includes views of the Mardi Himal Ridge, Annapurna Base Camp, and Poon Hill Sunrise.

Along the way, you will encounter glaciers, alpine meadows, high ridges, terraced fields, and rhododendron forests, ensuring that you experience every Himalayan landscape on this journey. Additionally, despite the lengthy trek days, the trek itself is moderately difficult, making it ideal for all age groups, as well as friends, families, couples, and everyone else.

You will enjoy the solitude of the peaceful Mardi Himal trail while balancing the well-travelled Annapurna routes with the off-the-beaten-path trails. You will also experience the exciting ABC trail with other hikers.

In conclusion, this travel package is ideal because it includes all of the elements of the three separate destinations, Mardi Himal, Poon Hill, and ABC, but it is less expensive and can be completed in fewer days.

Wait no longer and book the package now. It's an exciting 17-day trek to the remote Annapurna region of Nepal, visiting three of the region's main destinations.

Itinerary

Following your arrival at Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport, a representative of Mount Glory Treks will drive you to your hotel in Thamel and drop you off. After arriving at your hotel and enjoying a quick refreshment, you will meet at our office to receive an overview of the 17-day Annapurna region trek.

At this point, your trip officially begins. You will travel from Kathmandu to the stunning city of Pokhara in a cosy tourist bus.

The Prithivi Highway is traversed by this picturesque highway drive, which offers breathtaking scenery all along the way. You will pass through a number of villages as you travel alongside the stunning Trishuli and Marshyangdi rivers. With a breathtaking view of Machhapuchhre and the Annapurna range, you will eventually arrive in Pokhara after a journey of almost 6–8 hours. Since Pokhara is your overnight stop, you will have free time to explore the vibrant city and take advantage of the local cafes.

After eating breakfast in Pokhara, you will ride a Jeep to Nayapul, which is a picturesque drive of one to one and a half hours through villages and verdant valleys along the Modi Khola River. Your ABC trek officially begins when you arrive at the busy trailhead of Nayapul. You will eventually arrive at the Birethanti checkpost, a quaint riverbank village and the entrance to the

Annapurna Conservation Area. After passing through iconic villages like Hile and Tikhedhunga and following mild paths with terraced farms, you arrive at Ulleri, a steep 3000-step ascent. After ascending the stone steps, you arrive at the tranquil Ulleri village (2,050 m), a traditional Magar settlement with expansive views of Hiunchuli and Annapurna South. You will be staying at a tea house lodge in Ulleri village for the night.

As you begin your trek today, you will be treated to morning views of Hiunchuli and Annapurna as the trail winds through the homes of the Magar village. You will ascend gradually through the woods of oak and rhododendron, which are particularly colourful in the spring. During the trip, you will also stop for quick snacks and rest in villages like Banthanti (2210 m) and Nangethanti (2460 m). Ghorepani (2860 m) is reached after you cross the cool, shaded trail through the dense forest, where the canopy makes for a refreshing walk. Situated on the ridge with expansive views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, Ghorepani is a quaint Gurung, Magar settlement.

This is a unique day because you will be arriving at one of the primary stops on the Trek to ABC via Poon Hill with Mardi Himal. You will start your hike uphill from Ghorepani in the morning and arrive at Poon Hill (3210 m), which offers one of Nepal's best sunrise views, in 30 to 45 minutes. With breathtaking views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Machhapuchhre at sunrise, this ideal location captures the Himalayan Peaks and layered valleys.

After visiting Poon Hill, you will progressively descend to Ghorepani, where you will stop for breakfast. After a short break, you will resume your journey through peaceful Gurung communities and thick rhododendron and oak forests. After almost five hours of hiking, you reach the quiet village of Tadapani (2630 m), which offers beautiful views of the mountains and cosy tea houses for an overnight stay.

After a rejuvenating sleep and a nutritious breakfast, you will begin a gentle descent through dense forests and lush greenery, with occasional waterfalls and small streams.  During your journey, you will pass through settlements such as Sikha and Nangethanti, which are ideal for short tea or snack breaks. From there, you'll have to make a steep descent down steps into the Modi Khola Valley. After you arrive at Chomrong (2170 m), also referred to as the entrance to Annapurna Base Camp, your four to five hours of trekking will have paid off.

Today's trek starts with you traversing suspension bridges over Modi Khola and starting a slow ascent through forest paths. Along the way, you will pass notable locations like Sinuwa, Jhinu Danda, Dovan, and Deurali; on your way back, you will appropriately detour. After Deurali, the terrain gets steeper but offers a good place to acclimatise and enjoy expansive views. After an exhausting journey that includes a number of climbs and descents, you arrive at Himalaya Village, a tiny community at 3250 metres, where you will spend the night.

On the eighth day of your seventeen-day Annapurna trek, you will arrive at the Annapurna base camp, the journey's focal point. Through rocky trails with little vegetation and alpine scenery, you will gradually ascend from the Himalaya village today.

Along the route, you will arrive at the Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3700 m), an optional stop that offers a breathtaking view of Fishtail Mountain. After completing the route, you will arrive at the last ascent, which will take you through moraine terrain with expansive views of the Himalayas.

After that, you will arrive at Annapurna Base Camp (4130 m), which is a strenuous hike that is moderately to severely difficult due to the high altitude. Surrounded by towering peaks, including the tenth-tallest mountain, Annapurna, the location is a central amphitheatre. This provides you with the ideal location for Annapurna photography.  There are small teahouses at ABC for your overnight stay and meals, surrounded by snow-capped peaks everywhere and glaciers close by.

The trail descends through rocky moraine and alpine terrain, and you will begin your trek early in the morning from ABC. With short pauses for refreshments, you will continue to descend through wooded slopes, passing the villages of Deurali and Himalaya. You will arrive at Dovan (2600 m) after travelling the Modi Khola Valley trail, which is dotted with alpine flora, unique monkeys, and birds.

Dovan is a riverside campsite in a picturesque valley that is the ideal location for an overnight stay and recuperation following the high altitude trek from ABC. It takes you five to six hours to get there.

You will start your trek through the region's forested paths, descending gently along the Modi Khola valley. Additionally, the trail traces the river, which is lined with lush vegetation and occasional small waterfalls. You arrive at the picturesque village of Jhinu Danda (1780 m), a riverbank community with natural hot springs, after hours of hiking. The hot springs are perfect for soaking weary legs or the entire body after days of trekking. This all-natural spa treatment relieves your fatigue and prepares you for the following trekking day.

Following breakfast, you set out on a gentle ascent through wooded and riverbank paths from the hot spring area along the Modi Khola Valley. The trail winds through verdant rhododendron and bamboo forests, as well as streams with tiny waterfalls.

The trek, which will take you through small settlements, will be difficult due to stone paths and climbs. After that, you'll reach Landruk Village (1565 m), a charming Gurung community with views of the mountains and friendly locals.

You will start your walk this day with expansive views of sun-glow terraced fields as the sun rises early. In addition, there are hidden springs and rocky pathways along the trail. During your hike, you will encounter small side trails that offer views of isolated valleys that are rarely traversed by hikers. You reach the forest camp (1900 m), a peaceful camp nestled among massive oak and pine trees that are ideal for taking in the peace and quiet of the mountains.

As you set out on your journey through moss-covered paths with sporadic sunlight filtering through dense pine trees, it will be a long day. After that, the trail winds over little ridges, with clear streams sporadically cutting through the landscape. Hardy shrubs and alpine grasses, which indicate higher elevations, gradually replace the forest as you continue your journey.

As you arrive at the High Camp (3800 m), you are greeted by expansive views of Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, and distant valleys. This ridgetop campsite offers stunning mountain views and is ideal for acclimatisation before a day hike.

Reaching the third and final destination of your 17-day Annapurna area trek on day 14 is a memorable day. With clear mountain air and a sweeping sunrise over the Annapurna ranges, you will depart early in the morning. You can feel the untamed and unspoiled Himalayan landscape beneath your feet as the trail winds through rocky moraine and boulder fields.

As you pass the routes, you will arrive at Mardi Himal Base Camp (4500 m), which offers breathtaking 360-degree views of the Himalayan ranges from the open ridges along the trek. MHBC is a secluded and tranquil location that is ideal for photographs and views of glaciers and high peaks. You descend back to Low Camp (3450 m) after spending some time at Mardi Himal Base Camp. Low Camp is where you will spend the night, with its soft grasses and strewn boulders creating a contrasting landscape to the ascent.

Since this is your last day in the Annapurna region, you start with a leisurely descent through alpine meadows after breakfast while taking in the breathtaking scenery. Soft grassy paths, sporadic wildflowers, and bubbling streams make for a tranquil descent along the trail. On your trek this day, there will be sporadic paths with boulders that lead to views of Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre, and Mardi Himal. When you arrive at Siding Village (1800 m), a traditional Gurung settlement, you will rest, eat, and experience the genuine Gurung hospitality for the final time.

Following the short stop, you will take pleasure in a two-hour drive through picturesque roads to Pokhara. The trip descends to the bustling lakeside city of Pokhara via the Modi Khola Valley and riverbank villages.

You will travel in comfort from Pokhara to Kathmandu, taking the same picturesque route that brought you to Pokhara along the Prithvi Highway. The occasional view of the Himalayas from the window reminds you of your lovely journey to the Annapurna region.

And as you reflect on your trip, you will arrive in Kathmandu, the vibrant capital city. After you arrive in Kathmandu, freshen up and rest; we will give you a certificate of completion and a farewell dinner at a genuine local restaurant as a parting gift. Additionally, we will discuss the trip and how it went during the dinner talk.

Although the tour ends when you arrive in Kathmandu, we will pick you up from your hotel as part of our package and drop you off at Tribhuvan International Airport so you can catch your flight home in comfort and safety.

Packing List for the Annapurna Base Camp Trek via Poon Hill with Mardi Himal

Accommodation during the ABC Trek Via Poonhill & Mardi Himal 17 Days

The Annapurna adventure transports you to the isolated and high Himalayan region. This package includes lodging in cosy teahouses and lodges with standard amenities. Rooms for twin and triple sharing are included in the stay.

In addition to the package price, there are extra fees for amenities like hot water, Wi-Fi, charging, and showers. Luxury amenities are hard to come by in the Annapurna region because of its remote location.

In terms of cost, Wi-Fi in the Annapurna region typically costs between NPR 100 and 500 per day, depending on the tea houses and altitude.  Similarly, the cost of charging the electronic devices is between NPR 100 and 500 per session.

While some lower villages may offer free charging, mid- and high-end lodges charge more due to their reliance on hydropower and solar energy.

Food during the Annapurna Region Trip

Your body needs wholesome, high-carb foods when you're hiking a strenuous trail like the ABC. This is why our Annapurna base camp trek package includes three wholesome meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) every day. You can select the food you want from the menu, but be aware that there may not be as much food available because of the remote location.

Foods like Fried Rice, Pizza, Thukpa, Chowmein, Dal Bhat Tarkari, MoMo, Noodles, Garlic Soup, Vegetable Soup, Porridge, and more are readily available.

Additionally, trekkers are reminded that there are extra costs for tea, coffee, cold beverages, snacks, and other food items in addition to the three meals per day.

                                    Guides and Porters Service

It is now required to have a guide for the ABC excursion. For a group of eight people, Mount Glory Treks offers you one knowledgeable guide. To make your trip easier, we will provide an extra assistant guide if your group consists of more than eight people.

Since the Annapurna trek is lengthy and nonstop, we also offer porter services to you. Throughout the journey, one porter will help two hikers who will be carrying 20–25 kg of your luggage.

For your information, our package includes travel insurance, lodging, food, and transportation for the guides and porters.

                                    Note to Remember

Tipping Culture: While it is not compulsory, it is highly recommended that you tip your guides and porters for their help during your trek. In general, you should tip at least 10% of the total amount you spend on your trip. If you truly enjoyed the service, you can tip more than the minimum required for the trip.

WiFi and Electricity: These services are available during the Annapurna region trek, but they come with extra fees and may be limited based on the location's altitude. Charging costs might be around NPR 100-300 ,whereas the WiFi price may cost around NPR 200-500.

Transportation: The transportation during this special Annapurna trek is very comfortable, as you will mostly travel in Tourist buses and Jeeps. From Kathmandu to Pokhara, you will travel by tourist bus, and from Pokhara to Nayapul, you will travel by shared jeep. Best Season

The best time of year to visit this place is the same as for any other trek, even though the ABC trek, Mardi Himal & Ghorepani Poonhill can be finished at any time of year.

During the peak spring months, there are clear skies and unhindered views of Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, and Himchuli. Because of the pleasant weather and the rhododendron forests' full bloom, the trail is more colourful and vibrant during this time of year.

Autumn is another great season for the trip because it brings stable weather and wide-ranging mountain views after the monsoon. But, since this is the busiest time, expect to see a lot of other tourists.
