Itinerary

Meet your crew member and drive towards Kande.

From here, begin your trek through a small Gurung settlement. The trail then gradually leads you through a lush rhododendron forest and to Australian Base Camp. With the scenic view of the local village, continue your trail walking uphill through the forest leading you to Deurali welcoming you with the view of Annapurna South (7219m), Mardi Himal (5553m), and Machhapuchhre (6997m).

Breakfast with a view. 

Continue your journey starting with a gradual ascend through the lush jungle. A short steep uphill hike will lead you to a small settlement with some lodges. Along the way, you will see the sign leading you to the Forest Camp. The path is mostly through the forest gradually inclining you to our today’s destination, Low Camp. Low Camp is also known as Mid Camp.

After breakfast, we may our way to High Camp. The trails are mostly uphill. The first half of the trail leads you through the rhododendron forest. As you gain altitude the forest slowly starts to decline and the view clears up. By the time you reach Bhadal Dhanda, you will see the Himalayan Vista right in front and the valley below you.
 
The term Bhadal means: Cloud and Dhada means Hill, and as the name implies, you can see the cloud rivering on both sides. On cloudy days, the clouds fog up the entire hills hiding all the views, but walking along the ridge during this time is also of a kind experience. 

From Bhadal Dhanda to High Camp, you will mostly walk along the ridge of the hills admiring the views from both sides.

Today, we start early, before sunrise. Make sure you have headlights! 

 

We march steeply uphill to the viewpoint first. Be careful as you walk in the dark, following the footsteps of your expert guide. After a few ascend you will meet stairways that will lead you to the viewpoint. 

The view from this point is simply breathtaking. You can witness Mt. Machhapuchhere and Annapurna range close up front. At this point, you can either stop here and admire the sunrise view with some hot tea and coffee. 

Or you can move ahead to Mardi Base Camp. The trail is steep and tough but you will reward yourself with an even more mesmerizing view of the range and the other mountain ranges like Mt Machhapuchhre (6997m), Hiunchuli (6441m), Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m), Manaslu range, Mardi Himal (5553m) even close up front. 

Later, we walk back to the same trail, this time steep downhill to lodge in High Camp. Once you are all set, we make our way to Badal Danda, which is approx. 2 hrs. Downhill through the ridge.

Today we walk downhill all the way to Lumbre. 

Retrace your way to Low Camp. From Lo Camp, we leave the path where we came from and take the downhill trail to Siding. The walk to Silding is through uneven stone-paved stairways that usually hide behind the leaves of the dense forest. There are few resting points in between while the view of the Himalayas slowly hides behind.

Once you reach Silding, your trek ends, and your driver will pick you up and head back to Pokhara. After reaching Pokhara our 5 Days Mardi Himal Trek Ends.

Accommodation and Facilities During 5 Days Mardi Himal Trek From Pokhara:

Though 5 Days Mardi Himal Trek is a new trekking trail, due to its recent hype, there are plenty of newly established accommodations with basic facilities. 

Unlike all the trekking routes, Dal Bhat with some fresh veggies and chatni, pickles, with local meat for lunch and dinner, and Roti, flatbread, with an option of tea or coffee with boiled potatoes for breakfast is the best option. But you do have some options for a few selected continental dishes. 

Almost all the tea house has shared bathroom. You have the option of a hot shower, but it is subject to additional cost, as is the drinking water at some locations. 

Charging stations are available even in rooms, but as you gain altitude, you might have a common charging station in the mainly at kitchen area, and depending on the season, it might apply to extra cost because the Hotilers use solar panels and backups. 


Who can join 5 Days Mardi Himal Trek:

The 5 Days Mardi Himal Trek is a moderate-level trek. It requires some level of fitness preparation before joining the trek. People with joint issues and problems related to breathing are required to consult with doctors before joining the trip. 

The trail is easy, with gradual descent and ascending. However, the hike to the viewpoint and Mardi Himal base camp can be challenging with steep ascend and descend. 

One needs to take extra precautions while it snows.
